Intern needed in San Antonio next summer
The San Antonio Express-News is seeking a summer intern for news research. Graduate or upper-level students of Library Science or Journalism will be considered for a 12-week, 40-hour paid position. The internship schedule is flexible, but would most likely begin in late May or early June.
Responsibilities will include performing research for daily news stories and longer-term news projects using online sources such as Nexis, public records databases and the Internet. Possible intensive work with a photo collection-weeding project will also offer experience working with images and collection management. Intern will also learn how to archive the daily paper and will have an opportunity to develop some newsroom Intranet pages.
This position will provide experience in all areas of news librarianship. Ideal candidate should show interest in current events and be ready to work in a deadline-driven environment.
Deadline for applications is Nov.1
