We are currently seeking a Sr. Librarian to join our team in midtown Manhattan.


Job Description:
Primary responsibility is to fulfill the information and research needs of the company's editorial, advertising and marketing departments.


Will participate in development and presentation of training programs in research skills, databases and library materials. Needs an in-depth knowledge of research options in order to support a multi-faceted publishing company.

Will work closely with Director in the analysis and determining of Library/Information Services goals and objectives, including Intranet presence and capabilities (see below).

Will be able to represent the company at professional meetings and conferences.

TECHNICAL

Will be expected to develop and maintain library Intranet portal (shared responsibilities). Must have knowledge of web development and database technologies. Experience with library cataloguing and circulation software a plus.

SKILLS:

MLS desired. At least 5 years relevant library experience - advertising, media or consulting preferred but not necessary.

Must have strong service orientation and able to work under pressure and within tight time deadlines. Must be able to multi-task and set priorities well. Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills. Needs to be comfortable in a training environment.

Lexis-Nexis, Factiva, Dialog (should have great competence with these services).
HTML, Adobe Acrobat, PowerPoint, Excel
Familiarity with Mac and PC operating systems
Some experience with cataloguing and circulation software
Filemaker or Lotus Notes.
